Objective:
This activity is aimed at potential candidates wishing to enroll in a Private Pilot License – PPL(A) course, and is also accessible to individuals interested in the world of light aviation. This operation, commonly known as a “zero lesson,” consists of flights conducted with the utmost precision required by this activity.
What is Demonstrated:
During this activity, participants will accompany all
pre- and post-flight procedures and have the opportunity
to gain a concise understanding of all aspects involved
in flight preparation. They will have access to the aircraft controls
during cruising flight, always under the supervision and guidance
of our pilot, ensuring that
all safety conditions are maintained at all times.
Briefing:
The briefing is essential and mandatory, as it is a legal requirement for anyone undertaking a flight. Topics covered include safety procedures, flight controls, radios, meteorology, and the planned route, among others.
Operational Safety:
At the Porto Aero Club, SAFETY is the fundamental rule in all flight operations. For participants, wearing high-visibility vests (provided by staff) is MANDATORY whenever on the “air side” of the aerodrome.
Consumption of alcoholic beverages before the activity is strictly PROHIBITED.
It is essential to FOLLOW all instructions given by pilots and staff, both on the ground and in flight, to ensure that all safety requirements are met.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN THE CANCELLATION OF THE ACTIVITY.
For reasons related to weather or operational constraints, this activity may be interrupted and rescheduled for a later date.
Duration:
The experience lasts approximately 2 hours, with the first part dedicated to the theoretical component and the second part to flight time, which is counted from the moment the aircraft engine is started.
Aircraft:
The aircraft used is a Cessna C-150 / C-152.
Location:
Our operations base is located at the Vilar de Luz
Municipal Aerodrome, Maia.
NOTE: If, after this experience, you choose to enroll in the Private Pilot License PPL(A) course at our school, the full amount paid will be credited towards the course fee.
